Building Blocks of Faith

Hey Team CareGivers (TCG Family and Friends)!
What are the construction materials and furnishings for a house? As I reflected on Proverbs 24 with my online Bible study group this morning, verses 3 and 4 caught my attention.
“Through wisdom a house is built,
And by understanding it is established;
By knowledge the rooms are filled
With all precious and pleasant riches.”
We usually think of cement, wood, windows, etc. when we think about building a house, and couches, beds, appliances, etc. to furnish it. The proverb reminds us that there are invisible construction materials and sources for constructing and accessorizing a house. Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge are pretty good elements for not just a house, but a home. We can get so focused on the visible that we forget about the essential relational facets of home and family.
It is also vital to have God as the designer, contractor, and builder of your home. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it…” (Psalm 127:1)
In Him,
Wade
