Giving Thanks This Holiday Season

Hey Team CareGivers (TCG Family and Friends)!
We have been focusing on Thanksgiving and refocusing on Christmas giving these past few weeks. Both seasons are involved with giving—giving thanks and giving presents. I stumbled onto my tattered copy of Dennis the Menace cartoons again, and found 2 that reflect on the motives for giving and receiving presents.
In one pic, Dennis is by the Christmas tree standing in the middle of a room full of opened presents asking, “Is this all?” The other pictures him at a party watching a girl open her presents, while he tells his buddy, “I gave her a jackknife. She’ll give it to her brother, and I can talk him out or anything.” The one displays the motive of giving to get, while the other shows discontent and a lack of gratitude in receiving. Remember as we leave Thanksgiving and approach Christmas, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”(Jesus) And, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16)
God gave out of love, so we could receive eternal life, not so He could get something out of it. Be generous in your giving and gracious in your receiving😊
In Him,
Wade
