Taste the Sweetness

Hey Team CareGivers (TCG Family and Friends)!
Don’t you enjoy the Gooey Butter Cake and Cookies that Chris brings from St. Louis? They are so good! I got to thinking this morning about the ingredients in such sweet and delicious foods as I walked by the remnants from yesterday. A few ingredient highlights include sugar, milk, cream, flour, eggs, butter, water, corn starch, oil, salt, cheese culture, corn syrup, etc. You get the idea. This gooey wonder is sweet! That’s not to mention the powder sugar coating on top😊
The psalmist wrote, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Sample God! Give Him a try! Check Him out! See how sweet it is to know God and enjoy a personal relationship with Him. Two ingredients that make Him so sweet are His word and His grace as Peter wrote it: “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”
I appreciate Chris bringing the sweet gooey cakes and cookies to us, and I hope he doesn’t stop that practice. I further hope that everyone “tastes” the sweetness of Christ and His word, and His grace. The sweet and delicious gooey cookies and cakes never last long around here. They are never here long enough to spoil. Certainly, they won’t last forever. Of course, I’m not sure if there will be gooey cakes and cookies in Heaven. It’s a good possibility. But, I believe that God’s word and His grace are forever, and they will be among the ingredients that make eternal life a sweet existence forever. Blessings!
In Him,
Wade
