The Uncertainty of Life
Chaplain Wade Graber

Hey Team CareGivers (TCG Family and Friends)!
One of the numerous lessons that I learned in ministry is to work ahead to meet deadlines
because you never know what will happen in a moment that will change your calendar plans.
For example, in over 4 decades of church pastoral ministry nobody ever said, “I’m going to die
next week on Wednesday, and I wanted to know if you would officiate at my funeral on Saturday.”
Life happens with all of it’s uncertainties and unexpected dynamics, so prepare as best that
you can for the surprises that alter your schedule, plans, and life.
One of the challenging dynamics of family life these days is dealing with all of the various
reports, schedules, re-scheduling, altered plans, revamped agendas, and other diverse
variables. The best thing is to discover those things that are unshakable, reliable,
unchanging, irreversible, foundational and stable, and hang onto them.
“True Wisdom” was the topic of the verses we read at prayer time this morning. The
James 3:13-18 passage showed us the world’s earthly wisdom is marked by bitterness, envy,
self-seeking, lying, sensuality, and demonic dynamic, which all lead to confusion. God’s true
wisdom is marked by good conduct, meekness, purity, peace, gentleness, mercy, goodness,
impartiality, and without hypocrisy, which all lead to peace. Which source of wisdom is
ruling in our world today? Which source of wisdom do you want in your life?
My encouragement is to embrace what you know to be true. Maintain your convictions.
Don’t compromise your standards. Get a peace about your actions and decisions. Seek God’s best
for you and your family. Let God and His true wisdom be the guide for your heart and your home.
In Him,
Wade
