Focus on Your Core

Previous posts tying the TCG way of carrying out national R&M and FM services for our customers to the “8 reasons to outsource FM”, have had a common theme around hiring an expert.  This week’s topic connects our ability to drive quality, speed and savings to our main reason for existence in the first place: allowing our customers to do what they’re good at.

Reason # 5 to outsource FM: Increases Focus of Your Team

You are not running a company which does plumbing or pest control as its primary operation. So, why not focus on your core competencies and expand your business while the professionals take care of managing your facility’s day-to-day needs.

Issues like ordering supplies, servicing equipment, training the staff, meeting health regulations, etc. are very time intensive operations. By outsourcing it all to a dedicated company, you and your employees are free to funnel all your resources and energy toward your company’s growth by doing the work you love.

I am fairly certain that with every one of our customers, at some point in our partnership I have told them, “If we aren’t making your life easier, then we aren’t doing our job”.  It’s the truth, though.  If we aren’t allowing our customers to focus on what their primary business goals are, then they never should have hired us in the first place.  At TCG, our mission is to allow our customers to assign their FM/R&M work to us, and not have to think about it again.  When FMs don’t need to take their time to “babysit” R&M projects, they can think more strategically about their facilities and real estate, driving more to their bottom lines, while focusing on their customers and employees.  It’s a simple mindset, but by doing our job well, we empower others to excel at theirs.

Chris Barbour

Chris currently serves as TCG's Director of Sales. In an organization like ours, that doesn't mean non-stop selling (although, we are growing). In this role, it's all about connecting with our customers (both new and old), providing the highest level of service, and being an escalation point when jobs go sideways (let's face it, this is facilities). Prior to joining TCG, Chris worked in FM Business Development and Operations for 11 years in the Commercial Real Estate industry, serving hundreds of national customers, identifying hundreds of millions of dollars in savings, and building FM Operations Teams from the ground up.
