With Pastor Wade announcing the arrival of Love Month on February 1st, the TCG Family wanted to take things a step further and celebrate a Love and Kindness Week: February 12th-16th.

Monday-Friday next week we will be posting a Love and Kindness Challenge every morning on our website, LinkedIn Page, and via e-mail.  Each day, we will be challenging everyone to spread love and kindness around in different ways, with the ultimate goal of highlighting all of the good in the world, despite what you may see in the news and social media.  Here’s a preview:

  • Monday (February 12th) – Drop a note to a co-worker telling them how great you think they are. This could be an e-mail, Teams message, or even better – a hand-written note.  Bonus points if it’s a co-worker that you don’t interact with all that much. Similar challenge for the kids: Ask them to go out of their way to be kind to a kid at school that doesn’t always get included, maybe sit with them at lunch.
  • Tuesday (February 13th) – Find a way to interject some positivity into a Social Media post or news story online.  Reply to conversation either in the comments, or directly to a poster, and give them a fresh perspective on the situation. Only post, comment or reply with Love, Kindness and Positivity.  Life can get busy/crazy, be intentional today to make sure to tell every child in your life that they are Loved and that you are Proud of them!
  • Wednesday (February 14th) – Being that it’s Valentine’s Day, chances are you plan on telling a loved one or significant other how much they mean to you at some point today.  Make it a point to do the same for a relative that you might not usually correspond with on V-Day.  If you see that relative or loved one in person today, give them a long, awkward hug.  Make sure you tell them how much you love them too!
  • Thursday (February 15th) – Beyond your co-workers, we all interact with various people everyday (Mail Carriers, Bank Tellers, Cashiers, Waiters/Waitresses, Vendors, Partners, Suppliers).  Share a kind word or extend a heartfelt compliment to one of these folks as you run into them today.
  • Friday (February 16th) – Create a Love and Kindness Action Plan: Reach out to friends and family to plan a fun activity this weekend with spreading love as the core focus (volunteer somewhere or get together to make items for donations). Start your own Daily/Weekly Kindness Challenge, and challenge others to join in.  Start sharing your favorite Bible verses or uplifting stories online or via e-mail.  Strive to be intentional about sharing Love & Kindness every day of every year. Let’s take this beyond “Love Week”, and make it “normal” life.  The possibilities are endless, and we’d love to hear your ideas.

All of this is in the spirit of Love Month, and the simple words from 1 John 3:18 – “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”

Looking forward to posting reminders on these for you all each day next week, and hearing details on how each daily challenge was met!

Chris currently serves as TCG's Director of Sales. In an organization like ours, that doesn't mean non-stop selling (although, we are growing). In this role, it's all about connecting with our customers (both new and old), providing the highest level of service, and being an escalation point when jobs go sideways (let's face it, this is facilities). Prior to joining TCG, Chris worked in FM Business Development and Operations for 11 years in the Commercial Real Estate industry, serving hundreds of national customers, identifying hundreds of millions of dollars in savings, and building FM Operations Teams from the ground up.
